Athens & neighboring sectors – Mavrosouvala sector

Last years, a new and very beautiful sector has been discovered close to Athens. Mavrosouvala is one of the best crags to visit if you are on a climbing trip in Greece. Beautiful lines, well bolted and with a variety of moves and styles of climbing. To reach the crags, as you drive from Athens to Lamia in the National Highway, you exit in the “Oropos – Markopoulo ” link, turn left in the “Mavrosouvala” label and then immediately turn right. You are now meeting some big ΕΥΔΑΠ facilities and then you must follow the dirty road. After 200 meters, turn right. From that point, you are following the path in the big water tube and you reach the crag very soon.

In the sectot of Mavrosouvala there are for the moment about 40 routes with some extensions of them, and you need a 70 meters rope and some  15-17 quickdraws for the long routes.
